While make connection of printer to Dell E6400 + emea2 through serial port the Dell’s user getting a problem. If he doesn’t open the serial port using software (normal state) and e6400 sets “1″ to TxD line, the printer shows error. If he’s open port by putty, the port works properly and sets “0″ make he is able to communicate with devices. And the problem is it only happened when he’s running on Vista and XP. Meanwhile running Linux on Dell E6400 all works fine.
As the problem connecting printer on E6400 Dell laptop only happen in Vista and XP, means it’s not the Dell issue but the

here you can get benefit information about NTFS-3G. NTFS-3G is the program that allows writing to NTFS partitions with almost no restrictions. Being based on the Linux-NTFS project, NTFS-3G has been successfully tested as “Filesystem-In-Userspace”-plugin in many installaions, and is also being used for GNU/Linux-based virus scanners like “Knoppicillin”.
So to fix the problem of connecting printer on Dell E6400 which occurs only when running Vista and XP, you could setup a Live Knoppix configuration and run XP under QEMU.

Latitude E6400 is a good laptop that comes with the Intel Wifi Link
5300 AGN as the network connection. About this WiFi, someone has a
trouble; suddenly his Wifi Link 5300 AGN adapter continually drops
wireless connections to his home Linksys WRT300N access point and
router. He could connect without a problem when the encryption is
disabled, but when re-enabled encryption he would either connect at
1Mbps or not at all.
To make the Latitude E6400 that dropped it connection to home wireless
going back normally work, here’s the way you can try to do:
Download the latest driver from Intel’s site
Uninstall Intel utility and let Windows manage wireless connections.
Reset the router back to factory default.
Made one change at a time to see what caused loss of connection
Make sure that the encryption was set in the right level
Set the radio band back to Auto
Changed the encryption algorithm from AES to TKIP
Change three settings in the wireless cards driver as well. Go to the
Advanced tab of the wireless card driver and make the following
changes:
- Power Management – Highest,
- Roaming Aggressiveness – Lowest,
- Power Saver Mode – Off.
Finally, on the power management tab, disable power management.
