Just bought the new DV4-1302tx, someone said the fingerprint reader comes without any issues in terms of usage such as windows login and
online account login. However, after running HP Healthcheck on the
DV4-1302tx, the validity sensor is listed as recommended update. So he
didn’t know which the updated. And then after restart the laptop, he’s
find the reader is no longer being detected.

Basically, there is you can found a connected USB device icon with
Validity Sensor being listed as the connected device. Once the
DigitalPersona software pops error message to re-install the driver,
and then the personal identification device in Device Manager has
validity sensor version 2.0.0.1c listed and no error message.

To resolve the problem of DigitalPersona Fingerprint Reader that not
detected on DV4-1302tx you can try these steps below:

- Redownload update for Validity sensor from HP Healthcheck as it is
constantly listed as recommended update after initial install.
- Uninstall DigitalPersona and reinstall using Recovery Manager.
- Uninstall Validity Sensor driver and reinstall using Recovery Manager
- Attempt System Restore to reverse the HP Healthcheck update on
Validity Sensor. When the restore failed, no changes applied
- Check if roll back driver possible for Validity Sensor, option is greyed out.
- Check DigitalPersona website for update on software version, not
fruitful. the only security update is for older version
- Check HP website for driver download. Just remember, only driver for
Validity Sensor is found and it is the latest version that is
installed in my system (2.0.0.1c).
