Fixing HDMI Problem with ASUS M50

When you’ve dual boot in your ASUS M50 laptop, such as Ubuntu 8.10 with Microsoft Windows Vista and found that there is no sound through HDMI output when you’re running Ubuntu, Don’t worry.
Actually, you only need to change sound device in gnome. Go to administrator and choose “sound to ati hdmi”. You have to write below command:
> alsamixer -cl
Alsamixer will popup with your HDMI audio. for unmute the sound, you only need to press “m” key. If you’ve newer ati gfx drivers, you don’t need to unmute when you’re start with new sound stream.
