Sometimes we’re found out the Lenovo Thinkpad T500 touchpad messing up while typing. Ones whose experience said don’t know what key they’re reaching for while typing might his thumb touch the touchpad or something else but then the cursor jumps, and his typing going worst.
SponsoredAs he heard many others had the same issue there is setting a setting that would disable the touchpad while typing then he opened up mouse properties under the Control Panel and check UltraNav tab but he can’t found any option to disable the touchpad. So he didn’t thought it is possible to disable the touchpad anymore
Actually there is simple solution to fix the problem of T500 touchpad messing up while typing. What you need is just pressing Fn + F8 keys on your T500 laptop. There you should see any setting you can use to manage the system. Looking for the touchpad option and choose to only enable the touchpoint and disable the touchpad. This method is works fine whether on Lenovo T500 or T400 laptop.

Hey man.
The English above is a bit strange (I guess the writer isn’t a native speaker). But after reading it twice I understood the magic solution is Fn + F8 and indeed it works! So thanks for the tip. The touchpad problem has been bothering me for quite some time…
Using function + F8 does not launch anything on my laptop. Any thoughts?
I have reinstalled my T500 with Windows 7. Fn+F8 does not disable mousepad. Anyone who has fixed this problem?
Same here, Fn+8 does not work for me. Help!
I found the answer, if you can’t see the option under the control panel, then mouse, then UltraNav tab and then disable the touch pad by unclicking the “enable touchpad” option. If you can’t see this, then you need to update your mouse driver and then you will see it.
How to update the driver? In Vista, Go to the control panel, then the device manager and find the mouse and update.
Good luck!
try updating the driver in 7: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-66904
In the T500 you can disable the touchpad and/or the keyboard mouse pointer in the BIOS. No driver required and it’s completely dead. Hallelujah!
Not to sound like an idiot, what is the BIOS? Having problem trying to find this to disable the keyboard touchpad. Help please….
