Thinkpad T400: Power Manager Profiles Can’t Be Deleted
Posted by: admin In: Lenovo Laptops
The one user of Lenovo ThinkPad laptop getting power manager filled with several copies of each of the default profiles. That seem come from repeated installation and de-installation of the power-manager as he’s got a problem with it initially. Go to the registry under:
\\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Power\User\PowerSchemes
He’s found the fact apparently the de-installation didn’t clean them up. There are clearly several duplicate entries for each file such as Timers off, Maximum Performance, Power Source Optimized, etc.
Undeletable repeated profiles in power manager on Lenovo ThinkPad can be fix by using the default Vista power manager instead of the Lenovo one. Actually undeletable repeated profiles in power manager is occur because of the default power manager hides these ‘added schemes’ underneath a click-expand which is non-standard, so it should you to realize they were even visible in the standard power manager.
You can easy to delete all of them by expanded to show the “additional power schemes”. After deleting all of the ones Lenovo added, when opened the lenovo power manager it will read a single-copy of the ones it wants to be there and it should make the Lenovo system going back to normal. Then you’d better to do a clean install to get Vista Ultimate 64 on your machine if you want. So without the system updater, it was a chore to get everything installed and setup properly.
