Plug ATI Mobility Radeon Graphics Card into Thinkpad T400
Posted by: admin In: Lenovo Laptops
Has Lenovo ThinkPad T400 since couple months, the user said he didn’t take the ATI Mobility Radeon graphic card. And now he wants to know if it’s possible to buy the ATI Radeon graphic card’s part and install it on his T400 laptop? Or it’s set built-in factory when he want to order it?
I’m not sure, but I think the graphic card is different like with the CPU. Basically there is no way to upgrade ATI Radeon graphic card only with change it parts. This card is fixed once you get it you can’t change the graphic card without having to replace your whole ThinkPad T400 notebook. Might be someone out there can rebuild the ATI graphic card to improve it performance, but it doesn’t quite understanding and seem risky. Besides, wasn’t heard that ATI sell their parts of cards.
However if you still want to upgrade the graphic card in order to get the higher performance, you can replace T400 motherboard. And for your notice the CPUs are replaceable on all ThinkPads apart from X series and GPU is replaceable only on W700.
