How To Install SmartAudio 221 into Lenovo with P-7805u

Although there is a newest driver for any Lenovo with P-7805u which
useful used for the Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221 but the users can’t just install this driver on the machine if you have the right driver installed. If you have missing drivers, you’ll require installing manually and the Smart Audio II program can be installed manually also. The SmartAudio 221 driver which comes for Vista is 4.92.2.0 version (dated 2/9/2009) and the version 3.64.2.50 comes for XP.
Here’s the following to install SmartAudio 221 at Lenovo with P-7805u correctly:
- Download and extract all file through 6ea107ww.exe file
- Open Device manager and choose Sound, video and game controllers.
- Right click on either the High Definition Audio Device if you have
the generic Microsoft drivers, or the Conexant High Definition
SmartAudio 221 if you have older Conexant drivers
- Choose “Update Driver Software…”
- Click Browse my computer for driver software
- Click “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”
- Click “Have Disk…” and looking for the drivers extracted, by
default it’s locate at: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\AUDIO\V64 for 64-bit Vista,
C:\DRIVERS\WIN\AUDIO\V32 for 32-bit Vista and
C:\DRIVERS\WIN\AUDIO\XP32 for 32-bit XP.
- Click OK.
If you’re run Vista, select the first or fourth “Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221″ model in the list. These are the only ones
which show the SPDIF output and have a working microphone jack. The best model to choose might be different for XP. Just click Next for finished.
Now here’s how to install the SmartAudio II Application:
- Find out C:\DRIVERS\WIN\AUDIO\SAII\Setup.exe and hit to run
- You need to wait for complete installation as there are no prompts and the installation just disappears.
If all is fine, now you can access SmartAudio II Application through Control Panel, or at C:\Program Files\CONEXANT\SAII.
