Fixing Switchable Graphics Card Error on ThinkPad T400
Posted by: admin In: Lenovo Laptops
For last few months the Lenovo T400 running without installing any
other drivers and it works fine. Since one user of T400 Lenovo
ThinkPad knowing about one driver that said can make enable the
switchable graphic card, then he’s getting the driver from 307.ibm.com
site here.
After download and extract all files, he’s then install and restart
his T400 laptop as usual. Once the computer switches on, he’s right
click on the desktop and click Catalyst Control Center. But he’s found
it popped out a Catalyst Control Center notification:
“ATI Catalyst Control Center cannot be started because the currently
active GPU is not supported.”
To resolve the switchable graphics card problem on T400 above, first
of all you need to know that you’re might running on integrated
(Intel) graphics while trying to open Catalyst Control Center. Doing
this way make the Lenovo T400 give you an error message like above. In
order to switch to discreet ATi graphics on T400, you need to do the
right click on the battery icon located in the task bar. There you’ll
see a menu called “Switchable graphics”. Just select the “High
Performance” option and the software will switch to ATi card. Now you
are able to use the Catalyst Control Center to adjust anything you
like.
