After installing Chinese Windows XP SP3 in Lenovo Thinkpad T43 the one user getting sound stopped working. He’s tried to download the drivers from IBM already but has no good result.
To fix the problem of no sound at T43, the first thing you need to be sure that all of sound has no mute setting and you trying also the physical volume buttons on your keyboard. These useful because sometimes we can get so focused on software, we forget the real volume knob. If you’re already doing those all and your Lenovo T43 still has no sound, then you can try this following:
- Download audio driver through link below this post and extract.
- By default it goes to C:\Drivers\T42\Audio and takes a note this location.
- Go to Start => My computer and type the location into the address bar at the top. That will take you into the file where the info is
stored.
- Look for an icon that has Setup next to it.
- Double click on it and follow any prompts appear until completely install.
After reboot and the machine is back on, you should see your T43 audio works well.
