One laptop’s user of Lenovo IdeaPad Y510 with OS Windows XP SP2 installed said
that he has a sound problem. The front speaker located closer to the
Y510 laptop screen has no sound heard, whereas the 2 side speakers and
sub speaker on the bottom are work properly.
Generally the front speaker on Y510 only plays when Dolby Pro Logic II
is enabling. It has the tiny sound. However, if you’re sure that the
cable is plugged well, to fixed the ‘no sound’ front speaker on Lenovo
Y510 laptop you can try to uninstall all of the sound drivers. But
first test your audio in the Realtek control panel by double click the
orange speaker icon in the system tray. And then:
- Select the Mixer tab.
- Launch an audio player, winamp etc. and let a song play.
- During the music is playing change the levels of both the Front and
Side sliders in the playback section.
If it still has nothing, then you can try uninstalling all of the
Lenovo’s sound drivers and then installing the Realtek WDM_R191
driver.
