After bought Dell Studio D540 laptop someone interested to clean it
hard drive as he has a nice program that he burned to disk called
Darik’s Boot and Nuke. Unfortunately, when he’s rebooting the Studio
D540 and goes into the boot menu program by pressing F12 the CD isn’t
work.
To fix this problem, firstly you need to make sure the CD is bootable
and then setup CD Rom as the first boot. To do this, take out the disk
and restart your Dell Studio D540. Press F2 and enter the bios. There
in the BIOS try to look at the boot sequence and make sure the CD Rom
boots before the HDD. Save and exit. After completely remove or
reinstall the Windows OS, now put the CD in the disk then restart your
computer. And finally follow the wizard to install any program you
want as usual.
Just for notice, using the third party software on your Dell Studio
D540 may void your warranty of your operating system.
