Although seems like the sound card driver installed correctly at Dell
Vostro 1500 with Windows XP, sometimes the users still got an error
message said that there is no active mixer devices each time they’re
double-click on the volume icon in the system tray. Some said that the
sound controls are missing off the tool bar, and it occurred after
scanning the computer.
To resolve this audio problem on Dell Vostro 1500, at the first make
sure the sound card installed and working properly by checked the
System Devices section of the Control Panel. If it was, then go to the
next step, might this solution also works in other PC.
Click on Start and Run
In the Run box, type the following command: services.msc and Enter
Scroll down to Windows Audio in the right-hand column. If you’re found
it, then double-click on it.
Make sure the Startup Type is set to Automatic.
Click on the Start button under Service Status.
Now, the Windows Audio service will be restart and the volume control
error at Dell Vostro 1500 should be resolved.
