Users of Acer Aspire One Laptop with the OS Linux often forgot what the
password they set is at the first time turn on their computer. Sure,
you can do something like reinstalling any applications or files from
the recovery disk which effectively resets those all the things
including the root password. But, general users not too comfort
following that way.
Here another easy way to resolve the problem of forgotten password
that comes to the Aspire One laptop. It’s more simple than
reinstalling from the recovery disk ways.
At the first, make the Aspire laptop has available to bring up the
normal desktop menu when you do the right click somewhere on the
desktop. This setting is useful because at the Desktop menu contains
more options rather than the limited user interface on the Aspire One.
To make it works, from your Aspire One go to the Files => My Documents
=> open the File Manager => File. At the top of the File Manager
Window you can find the word of menu, use it to go to the advance
mode.
Get the Xfce Settings Manager by looking for Linpus Linux uses Xfce,
and use “xfce-setting-show”.
Go to Desktop preference by click on Desktop and then select Behavior tab.
Under the “Menus” there is an option of “Show desktop menu on right
click” click it and close the window. Now, you are in the advance mode
and your Aspire One is able to show you many more option under the
desktop menu. Simply following the next steps by right click on the
desktop to get the menu and go to the system
Open the terminal and typing: sudo –su
Now it will prompt you to enter a password. Just typing there: passwd
This will bring you to the final steps by prompt you to entering the
new root password. You can type anything you want but needs to be
longer than 6 characters. Just for your notice, here you can’t see
anything appear but don’t worry it will register. You can prove it
because your Aspire One then ask you to repeat the password you just
typing.

Tony has problem with his Acer Extensa 5220 Laptop. His Wireless LAN can’t work on Microsoft Windows XP eventhough the network controller appear in device manager. He has tried so many laptop drivers, but the drivers can’t be solved.
Fortunately, after searching some driver and ask some technician, He needs to install Wireless BCM 4312. You can download the driver from here. After this program installed, wireless connection problem has been fixed.

If you have Acer Aspire 3003 laptop for a few years and often
experience crash and locked up in windows desktop, there are many
things cause of this problem. It can be the laptop systems and utility
that can’t well running or the hardware such memory or hard drive that
failed. Some said the batteries can also suggest as the one cause of
that problem.
Firstly you need try to enter the windows with the ‘Safe Mode with a
Command Prompt’, and then doing the System Restore to make your Aspire
3003 system back on the original setting. If you have done and able
entering the windows desktop then goes to the memtest.org to test both
your hard drive and the memory. Just find the manufacture diagnostic

Blue Screen of Death or common known as BSOD is the one important
condition comes to the computer that has serious problems. BSOD
require you to resolve the causal factors soon. And it can be anything
such over heat processor, fan stopped spin, memory failed, or any
crucial problems.
Acer 4000 laptop has BSOD after format and reinstalled all of computer
device can’t be easy to resolved because usually you can’t see the
error message because of it’s gone fast, reboot, and scans disk for

Acer Aspire laptop that has got svchost.exe takes the memory up to 99%
possibilities to make the PC going trouble. Usually this problem comes
to people who just running scan for Microsoft Office updates. Updating
OS system of your Acer Aspire Windows to the newer version may replace
a legacy DLL file in your Windows OS with the newer one.
In any case by stopping svchost during work makes the screen will
revert to win 98 styling as the attached picture shows cutting off the
wuauclt.exe. You may receive the following error message on your Acer
Aspire laptop screen:
svchost.exe - Application Error : The instruction at “0×745f2780″
referenced memory at “0×00000070″. The memory could not be “read”.
If you want to check this symptom on your Acer Aspire laptop you must
enter to the event logs first. And then right click on My Computer.
There you can select Manage and now you can Event Viewer on the
Computer Management window.
Once access the event logs in your Acer Aspire screen you should see a
few event logs where there are the error most likely to be in the
‘Application’ log.

Acer Aspire 5100 has got message “ERROR 0200: Failure Fixed Disk 0″
that appear during boot on the BIOS screen can be a serious problem.
There are many possibilities cause of this error message come. And the
worst is it cause of Aspire 5100 motherboard has failure.
Before suggest that it cause of your Acer motherboard is damage,
better check your Acer Aspire 5100 hard drive first by replace HDD
with another that you’re sure that it has a good work. Turn on your
Acer laptop and see what happened.
ERROR 0200: Failure Fixed Disk 0 comes usually caused of HDD issue. If
you’re already replace HDD and the error message still appear, then
try tracing back the IDE / SATA cable connecting to your Acer Aspire
5100 motherboard. You can try to make your HDD as the only IDE device
that connected to your motherboard. Or change your HDD jumper as the
secondary IDE channel.
In case the Acer Aspire 5100 connector to the motherboard is hardwired
and it has no IDE cables, it means the PCB line on your MB is broken.
You need to solder it by try to find the line of PATA connector to the
MB. Unfortunately, it’s not easy to do it. You should sure that it was
the right one. If you want it you can see a video on you tube about
suggesting a solder of a part on an Acer 3100. Basically it’s the same
part with ACER Aspire 5100.

general usage. Most laptop user often make mistakes during manages the
OS system. When it comes in the crucial system, it will make their
Acer laptop become failed work. So what the first thing they need to
do is recovery the laptop system
Acer laptop recovery system require in many conditions including the

Start Acer eRecovery by hold the “Alt” key and press the “F10″ key

I just restored Acer 5315 PC Notebook system back to the factory setting. Same like other, for one many reason sometimes ones needs to change the laptop’s system back to factory setting.
There are two basic ways to restore Acer 5315 PC Notebook to the original setting. The first method you can try to pressing the key Alt + F10 for 5 times while startup process appears on the Acer screen. Usually this way will restore the original setting automatically.
And the next method you may need to use system restore at the first time you’ve got your Acer 5315 laptop. Here are steps to follow:
Log on as the Administrator => Start => All Programs => Accessories => System Tools => and click the System Restore. System restore will run and here you should see the Welcome System Restore page appear. Click Restore my computer button to an early time if it’s not already
selected. Click next to continue the steps.
There is on your Acer 5315 laptop screen a Restore Point page appear, you can select it and then click the most recent system checkpoint it, click a restore point list. After you click the Next button, System Restore message may appear that lists configuration changes that
System Restore will create. Click OK.
For the last step click next button on the Confirm Restore Point Selection page. Now the ‘System Restore’ will restore the previous Windows XP configuration on your Acer 5315 OS system. Just finish it by restarts your Acer laptop.
Now log on again to your Acer 5315 PC Notebook as Administrator and watch the System Restore Restoration Complete page appears. Click OK.

If you want to install modem driver for Acer 5315 PC Notebook with Windows XP as the operating system, at the first you should know exactly what the modem’s type of your Acer 5315 is. You can see it from the Acer laptop’s manual book that you’ve get while purchasing your laptop.
In case you can’t find the Acer 5315 modem type and didn’t have any ideas, you can try these. Usually modem used by Acer laptops is Foxconn or Agree, just try it one by one. If one can’t work, uninstall
it and try the other.
Now download the zip archive of Agere modem driver and follow these steps: Go to the Start menu and right click My Computer And click Properties => Hardware => Device Manager Right click on ‘Modem Device on High Definition Audio Bus’ and clickUpdate Driver
Choose ‘No, not this time’ => Next
Choose ‘Install from a list or specific location (Advanced).’ => Next
Choose ‘Don’t Search. I will choose the driver to install.’ => Next.
Now in the list on the “Hardware Type” page, highlight ‘Modems’ scroll
down => Next.
Click on ‘Have Disk’ => Browse and find the file where you extract
Agere Modem drivers. Simply highlight the “agrmdv32″ file, opened and
click OK.
Finally you can highlight Agere Systems HDA Modem found and Next. Now
you should meet the ‘Update Driver Warning’ dialog, click Yes on it.
Now on your Acer 5315 PC Notebook you should have a working modem. In
case the driver can’t detect your modem, you can use Foxconn as modem
driver.
