Asus EeePC 1000HE become freeze and getting blue screen crash
consistently when use it in a flight. Whereas this computer
experiencing normal performance on the ground. When the problem is
came, EeePC shown the HDD light goes solid and then the system stopped
it all activities. The users can’t just reboot the machine as it will
not find the HDD. And the worst there is no error message in any logs
at all. Since many 1000HE users got the same problem of system locked
up, and then wouldn’t recognize the HDD when their attempted to
reboot. It was very ridiculous because it never happened on the
ground.
Typically, the flight plane is flying between 30,000 and 36,000 feet
and the cabin pressure kept below 8,000 feet, well under the 10,007
foot operating ceiling of the EeePC 1000HE hard drive. In this
situation cargo holds are pressurized so you likely didn’t harm your
hard drive by checking it. Even with no pressurized hold it won’t
likely harm your Eee 1000HE computer as you are unlikely to exceed
40,026 feet unless you operate a high-performance private jet. So the
one logic suspicion would be either vibration while in operation or
powering up a cold computer with condensation on/in it is the cause of
your woes.
