After you’ve installed Windows XP into Acer Aspire or Travelmate 4720 but found that your sound driver doesn’t work properly, you may follow this simple instruction:
Download Realtek Driver from following location:
a. Official Acer Asia Pacific here
b. Official Acer Chinesse here
c. Or Get it from Taiwan Realtek here
You have to download above drivers and install it to your notebooks.
If you can’t install the driver, you may have to update the driver through Control Panel (Add New Hardware-> Sound, Video and Game Controller) and locate WDM\HDA.inf, Choose realtek High Definition Audio , follow the installation and restart your notebook.
After update Realtek Audio Driver, you have to change output sound configuration on Winamp.
- Go to option -> Preferences
- Choose Plug-in -> Output
- please check, right column and select “Nullsoft DirectSound Output” 2x (out_ds.dll).
- On the tab device choose “Realtek HD Audio Output”.
- Restart WinAmp dan try to play a song.
You may should change Windows Media Player Configuration too.
- Go to View-> Plugin -> Devices
- Select Speakers
- Select Direct Sound “Realtek HD Audio Output”
- Select OK and restart Windows media Player.
- If you want to heard DVD audio go to plugin and choose “Play DVD”.
- You have to set the playback to analog
- Select OK and restart windows Media Player.
