Another similar boot problem also found at Acer 8930G laptop. The user said the boot sequence stopped before the first Windows logo, the same as the start button, would pop up on the screen and of course he never
got to login screen although he can see there was still the occasional disk activity.
As he said his got boot problem in Acer 8930G soon after installed IE8 and he’s not sure they are connected, sounds like he had Bioprotection fail after IE8 was installed. In many cases it may have been because closed the lid too soon before the Shutdown sequence had finished, so the hard drive getting worst effect.
For your notice, Acer has the facility built on to the hard disk. Restore the computer to the factory setting maybe will fix the
problem. Usually you can do this by keep hitting the F10 key during the boot sequence. Just check your Acer 8930G manual if this method can’t works. And then you need to go in and reinstall all your updates and programs you installed after purchasing 8930G as well as the programs recovered off the pulled disk.
